"Where stunning Champions and lovable puppies are bred." In September of 2003, I attended a dog show in Edmonton, and was introduced to a wonderful woman named Anita Johnson. Anita runs the Edmonton Kennel Club rescue and is also a dog judge and works very hard at trying to place unfortunate animals in loving homes. I explained to Anita that I had become completely enamoured of the Pekingese breed and that I was looking for one. Anita had an adult female at the rescue (papers and all) and asked me if I would be interested. I told her I was and after an interview with Anita and an introduction to “Fizzy”…I came home with my lovely girl. There was only one stipulation……I had to “show her”….at least once…Anita understood that both Fizzy and I had never done this before and was willing to help us. Seven months later, with Fizzy in full, beautiful coat, and me with a bad case of “nerves”…we entered the ring for the first time…Fizzy showed beautifully…..and took Best of Breed. She even beat out Am./Can.MBIS champion that day. Three weekends later…. and more breed winsFizzy became my first champion….and I was “bitten” with the show bug…
